OUR INAUGURAL SUBMISSIONS WINDOW IS CURRENTLY OPEN! We are actively seeking compelling, book-length manuscripts in the categories listed above. We accept complete manuscripts only. We want to see your vision developed from start to finish, though we fully expect and welcome the collaborative editing process. Your draft needs to be polished, but we do not expect it to be perfect. If we accept your book, our editorial team will work closely with you on structural revisions, developmental polishing, and copyediting to bring your project to its highest potential.
Submission Requirements
To submit, ensure the manuscript is formatted in a double spaced, page-numbered Word document using 12 pt. font and 1-inch margins. Prepare a brief cover letter introducing yourself, giving a brief synopsis of your book, and listing any relevant writing credits.
Include the cover letter in the body of an email, attach the complete manuscript, and email it to hearthandhabitat [at] prairieoakpublishing.com with the subject line "Inaugural Submission - [Book Title]" between Monday, October 5 (World Habitat Day) through Friday, October 23 (World Wilderness Day). Once submitted, you will receive an email verifying receipt within 48 business hours.
